The process of physically making, testing and prototyping is an integral part of our design work. We make models to evaluate design decisions, testing forms, scale, light and materiality. We believe architecture is fundamentally a craft of designing and making, and that understanding how things are made is central to producing durable, sustainable and beautiful architecture.

In the context of building, we work as part of team to produce architecture. We depend on on the skills, knowledge and experience of the builders and consultants we work with, developing these relationships over many years. As a practice we listen and learn from our collaborators, navigating the complexities of making buildings, and working with the specific combination of building, site, and client.
